Report on WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan’s health issues in the weeks leading up to his death
During a live stream in June of 2025, radio host Bubba The Love Sponge claimed that he heard from “reliable” sources that WWE Hall of Famer Hogan was in the hospital and his condition was “not good.” Bubba added that he heard family members were called to come “say their goodbyes.” However, former WCW President Eric Bischoff referred to the claims as “bullsh*t” and Hogan’s wife Sky also downplayed the claims.
Hogan ended up passing away on July 24th. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Hogan had been dealing with complications from neck surgery on May 14th and other medical issues. Meltzer wrote that Hogan “had been intubated and was having renal failure and fluid overload as well as severe COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.”
It was noted that Hogan had been a patient at Tampa General Hospital but was then sent home. A source stated the following to Meltzer…
“Bubba pretty much had legit info the whole time. Basically, what happened with Hulk was they took him out of the hospital and made a hospital in his house as there wasn’t much left they could do.”
It’s believed that Hogan took a turn for the worst over the last week and could no longer talk. Meltzer added that “one person close to him over the past week had noted that, at the time, he was not quite as bad off as Bubba had been saying, it was also a lot worse then anything anyone else was saying.”
