The reason for John Cena’s lack of appearances in July leading up to WWE SummerSlam 2025

Leading up to his SummerSlam 2025 match against Cody Rhodes, John Cena’s only advertised WWE appearances are the SmackDown in San Antonio, Texas on July 18th and the SmackDown in Newark, NJ on August 1st.

According to a report from NJ.com, Cena and comedian Eric Andre are in New Jersey filming a Netflix movie titled Little Brother with production now underway. Here is the description for the film…

“The movie revolves around a prominent real estate agent, played by Cena, and his younger brother, played by Andre. Everything in the professional’s life is turned upside down when his little brother shows up.”
