WWE Head of Media & Production Lee Fitting facing misconduct allegations from his time with ESPN

Lee Fitting, formerly of ESPN, became WWE’s new Head of Media & Production in early 2024 as the replacement for Kevin Dunn. Around the time of the hiring, Paul “Triple H” Levesque referred to Fitting as “a game changer.”

An article published by The Athletic on NYTimes.com covered Fitting’s departure from ESPN. Misconduct allegations have come out of Fitting of objectifying women, criticizing their physical appearance, and making crude jokes in the workplace. The article stated the following about the situation…

“This went on unchecked for years, according to the scores of current and former ESPN employees interviewed by The Athletic, who requested anonymity to speak freely because they still work in sports media. It had a devastating effect on numerous women, who believed they had to endure or go along with his conduct to stay employed or ascend at ESPN. Many women in sports media quietly shared their interactions and concerns about Fitting with each other. Some left ESPN in part because of their experience with him.”

It was noted that shortly after a complaint regarding Fitting was made with ESPN’s human resources department, he was gone from the organization. In regards to Fitting’s dismissal from ESPN, one woman stated “I can’t believe it took this long” while another said “it finally caught up to him.”

A spokesperson for Fitting denied some of the allegations made against him while choosing not to address others. A WWE spokesperson said the company had no comment in regards to the allegations.
