Conflicting reports about AJ Styles following the October 4th 2024 edition of WWE Smackdown
There have been conflicting reports about AJ Styles following the October 4th 2024 edition of WWE Smackdown. At first, it was stated that Styles was not actually injured during his match with Carmelo Hayes. However, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com wrote that what happened to Styles “was legit and not storyline.” Meltzer added that Styles will be getting an MRI done to see the severity of it.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com noted the following on Monday…
“People in WWE claimed this to me today regarding AJ Styles: ‘The flip where he sold the knee was to be a work. The move where he landed on the knee was legit.’ I don’t have much of a follow up besides that but hopefully we see AJ soon. The word internally is that he’s injured.”

When it was brought up how Meltzer “scooped” Fightful, Sapp responded with the following message…
“I’m gonna wait and see on this one. They had the camera on him, a segment on a live show in the trainers room, filmed a digital skit and had a guy ready to alter the end of the match.”
