Backstage news regarding WWE’s commentary changes for the final months of 2024

Following the news that WWE announcer Pat McAfee will be returning to ESPN’s “College GameDay” for the fall football season, it was confirmed that he won’t be appearing on WWE RAW again until the show moves to Netflix in January.

This week, the Sports Business Journal confirmed that Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett will be the new announce team for RAW while Michael Cole and Corey Graves will be announcing Smackdown. In regards to Graves moving back to a color commentator role, Wade Keller of PWTorch.com noted the following…

“PWTorch is told WWE wasn’t unhappy with Graves, but rather WWE Head of Media & Production Lee Fitting was a big booster of Tessitore, whom he has been friends with for years. Soon after being hired by WWE, Fitting had been pitching hiring Tessitore. Tessitore hob-nobbed at the last WrestleMania and made a good impression and came across as an informed fan of the WWE product.”
