Report on why Jon Moxley and Claudio aren’t part of the AEW tag team title tournament

A tournament is currently taking place in AEW to crown new tag team champions. Jon Moxley and Claudio of the Blackpool Combat Club are noticeably not involved the tournament despite defeating FTR at the 2024 Revoultion PPV event.

As it turns out, Moxley has other wrestling events scheduled in Mexico and Japan. Fightful Select noted that Moxley had time off planned in advance explained the situation…

“Moxley has upcoming bookings in Mexico next week, as well as Japan the following week, when the heart of the tournament would be taking place. His match in Mexico was planned well over a month ago as well, and by then would not have been available to participate in the tournament.”

Moxley will team with Shota Umino to take on House of Torture (Jack Perry & Ren Narita) at NJPW Sakura Genesis on April 6th.
