The Rock’s segment with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns sets record for most disliked WWE YouTube video
As seen during the February 2nd 2024 edition of WWE Smackdown, Cody Rhodes seemingly stepped aside for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to face Roman Reigns at WWE Wrestlemania 40. The Vince McMahon sex trafficking lawsuit, WWE canceling creative plans for Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk getting injured were said to be factors in plans being changed.
WWE uploaded the full segment from Smackdown to YouTube and on Saturday morning, Twitter account @WrestleOps noted the following about the video…
“The Rock & Roman Reigns’ segment from last nights #SmackDown is now officially @WWE’s most disliked YouTube video of all time with over 200,000 dislikes in under only 9 hours. In 9 hours: 1.6M views. 57,000 Likes. 200,000+ Dislikes.”
The segment has received negative feedback on Twitter/X with “Poor Cody” becoming a trending topic. Former WWE star Summer Rae (Danielle Moinet) was among those that criticized the creative decision. In a NoDQ poll on Twitter/X, 75% of respondents voted that WWE is not making the right decision to have The Rock take Cody’s spot.
