News regarding the creative plans for Sting heading into his retirement match at AEW Revolution 2024

As seen during the January 10th 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite, The Young Bucks appeared at the end of the show. A match with the Bucks against Sting and Darby Allin was teased for Sting’s retirement at the 2023 AEW Revolution PPV event.

Fightful Select noted that as of several weeks ago, the Bucks vs. Sting and Darby was the active plan for Revolution and Sting was on board with the match. Sting receiving a proper send-off has reportedly been very important to AEW President Tony Khan.

Fightful also stated the following regarding creative plans for Sting…

“Fightful has learned that Sting has had a major say in who his opponent or opponents will be. We’ve heard that he’s been more keen on continuing to do tag team matches as opposed to a singles match, as he’s indicated in the past.”
