Cody Rhodes vs. Damian Priest took place at the WWE Crown Jewel 2023 PLE. Here are the highlights…

* Priest attacked Cody before the match officially began. Cody fought back and the bell rang to start the match. Priest regrouped on the outside and took advantage when Cody tried to go after him. The announce table was exposed and Priest gave Cody the reckoning onto it. The crowd stated a “you suck” chant at Priest.

* Back in the ring, Cody recovered and hit the Cross Rhodes but couldn’t make the cover. Finn Balor then made his way down to ringside. JD McDonagh tried to interfere but Cody attacked him. Priest took advantage and hit the South of Heaven chokeslam but Cody kicked out. Dominik Mysterio then came down to ringside with a steel chair but was attacked by Jey Uso. Jey took out the Judgment Day crew with superkicks and chased them away with the chair.

* The match continued to go back and forth. Cody hit a top rope Cody cutter but Priest kicked out. Cody delivered three Cross Rhodes to finally score the victory.
