Mercedes Mone reportedly injured during NJPW Resurgence event in California
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, “the word making the rounds backstage” at Sunday night’s Resurgence event in Long Beach, California is that Mercedes Mone suffered a broken ankle during her main event match against Willow Nightingale. Nightingale won the match to become the first NJPW Strong Women’s Champion.
The injury apparently happened while the two were battling on the ropes in a corner. Mercedes fell to the outside of the ring and appeared to having trouble putting weight on her leg after that point.
