Results of Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus at WWE Wrestlemania 39
Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus for the Intercontinental took place at WWE Wrestlemania 39 Sunday. Here are the highlights…
* Before the match, Bobby Lashley arrived and held up his Andre The Giant battle royal trophy on the stage.
* Ludwig Kaiser (with Giovanni Vinci) did the introduction for Gunther on the stage.
* Gunther wanted Sheamus and McIntyre to start the match so McIntyre dropkicked Gunther out of the ring and then fought with Sheamus. Gunther picked his opportunity to get back in the ring and take control of the match. Gunther and McIntyre had a chop exchange and the crowd gave them a standing ovation.

* McIntyre and Sheamus worked together to deliver the 10 beats to Gunther. Sheamus then delivered almost 30 beats to McIntyre and received a standing ovation. Gunther wiped out Sheamus with a lariat but Sheamus was able to kick out. Gunther tried to finish off McIntyre with a powerbomb but McIntyre kicked out.

* Sheamus hit Gunther with an avalanche white noise followed by the Celtic cross but Gunther kicked out. Sheamus applied the cloverleaf submission but then McIntyre applied a chin lock to Sheamus.
* Sheamus hit the brogue kick on Gunther but McIntyre pulled Sheamus out of the ring and the crowd started a “this is awesome” chant. McIntyre hit a dive to Sheamus on the outside of the ring and the crowd started a “holy shit” chant.

* Back in the ring, McIntyre went for a claymore but Sheamus caught him with the brogue kick but McIntyre kicked out. McIntyre recovered and hit the brogue kick but Sheamus kicked out. McIntyre and Sheamus traded blows and broke into a hockey fight. Both men were down but then Gunther returned and powerbombed Sheamus onto McIntyre. Gunther powerbombed McIntyre and scored the victory to retain his title.
* Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and guest commentator Titus O’Neil gave them a standing ovation afterwards.
