Sami Zayn: Ucey or Zayny?

First, I’d like to apologize to any readers out there that may enjoy reading my opinions as I haven’t written anything in several weeks.

Now that that’s out of the way.

If you have been following the news and rumors, for quite a while there was much speculation that it would be Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania on one night and The Rock (or Cody Rhodes if Rock couldn’t) vs. Roman Reigns on the other night. The WWE Championship and the Universal Championship would be defended separately. Obviously, more recent reports, live action and storylines has proven that is not happening. The Rock is not available and Seth Rollins seems to be entering a storyline with … (sigh) … Logan Paul.

Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble and well, he doesn’t have much of a choice if he wants the main title(s) as Roman Reigns holds both. So we have Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania.

But wait! Sami Zayn has a falling out with the Bloodline and now has a main event match at Elimination Chamber against Roman Reigns.

To make things interesting, Cody Rhodes cuts a promo on Raw 2 weeks ago and states that Sami Zayn may beat Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber and go on to be his opponent at Wrestlemania. This week’s Raw had Sami calling out Cody to ask him if he really believes that, then goes on to state he’s not so sure. He describes Roman in god mode and continues to build him up.

All of this got me to to thinking and the latest Cody/Sami promo added another option to my thoughts.

One thought. Could this all have been a Bloodline plan? The way that Sami described Roman and built him up during his latest promo, could’ve been to get in Cody’s head. Maybe the Bloodline is stronger than ever and only acting this way to make everyone think they have weak links. More of the plan could unfold subtly or blatantly leading up to Wrestlemania. I know, doubtful, as it seems like a lot of effort has been in to building Sami up, but it was just a thought that crossed my mind.

Second thought. Roman Reigns has been Champion for 800+ days. I highly doubt that an end to his historic Championship run would occur at a minor PLE. Sami vs. Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber will end in a controversial ending. Maybe Sami has Roman pinned with a distracted or unconscious ref. Something that would put Sami over in Montreal and allowing Reigns to pick up the win.

The controversial finish would lead to Sami having just cause to join the main event at Wrestlemania. While there are rumors and talks of the match becoming a triple threat, I think they would go with the split title scenario. Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship and Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship.
