What is being said about Roman Reigns matches with Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura being delayed
As seen during the April 29th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown, a six-man tag team match between The Bloodline and RK-Bro/Drew McIntyre was announced for the Wrestlemania Backlash PLE.
It appears that WWE wants to save a Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre match for a stadium show such as Money in the Bank or Summerslam. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following during Wrestling Observer Radio…
“The deal is Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, even though they’re working at the house shows, from a pay-per-view standpoint I guess they want to save that for the bigger shows.”
“They need something big. They don’t have that big match and I guess Roman… Roman’s the biggest star and his biggest opponent right now is Drew so they’re saving that for quote ‘a bigger show than this one’ because this one is whatever. It’s still a pay-per-view and all that.” (quotes courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
Steve Carrier of RingsideNews.com noted that Reigns vs. Shinsuke Nakamura could still happen during a non-stadium event…
“A lot of fans are still wondering what happened with Shinsuke Nakamura vs Roman Reigns. We were told that Nakamura is there ‘to hit when it’s time.’ The match ‘won’t be a stadium show,’ but he is ‘there for us to use with Roman when we need it.'”

We were told that Nakamura is there "to hit when it's time." The match "won't be a 'stadium show,'" but he is "there for us to use with Roman when we need it."
