Jon Moxley explains why he hates being in ladder matches

During a recent appearance on the Talk is Jericho podcast, Jon Moxley talked about ladder matches…

“Those matches are so annoying. They are always big hits with the crowd. We just did one the other week. I swore I would never be in another ladder match again. I hate ladder matches. I’m not a ladder guy. Ladders and chairs took more years off my career than probably anything because you get bone chips in your elbows and stuff. I hate ladders. I’m not what you would call a high flyer if you haven’t noticed, so I don’t know why I need to be going up this ladder. I swore I would never be in another one.

Tony (Khan) was like, ‘We’re doing this match. We got to announce the graphic.’ I fought tooth and nail coming up with every excuse why I shouldn’t be in a ladder match, but if you’re paying me and I’m here working for you, I want to do a good job. I want to do a good job for the team. He’s like, ‘We need star power in this match. I have to give the graphic to them tonight.’ I was like, ‘Fine. I’ll do the ladder match.’ I couldn’t believe it. I just swore that I would never do another ladder match, and here I’m in another ladder match again talking with six guys trying to figure out all this insanity. But it’s like you said, they’re always big hits with the crowd. You climb the ladder, dangle your fingertip a little bit, and they go nuts.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
