WWE news items on profanity usage, Harry Smith, and return to Canada
Here are some WWE news items for Saturday, October 9th 2021…
* As previously noted, WWE is reportedly looking to attract younger audiences to the company’s television programming. There has been a noticeable increase in the usage of profanity in recent months on RAW and NXT but not as much on Smackdown. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com wrote the following regarding the matter…
“Smackdown doesn’t have Standards and Practices. FOX does. And FOX is not too keen on profanity.”
* Back in July, Harry Smith had a WWE dark match against Austin Theory but hasn’t been used since. Dave Meltzer reported that Smith had tested positive for Covid-19 but is said to be “fine” now and was backstage at the October 1st 2021 Smackdown in Baltimore.
* WWE will be returning to Canada for the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in December. WWE’s upcoming tour includes stops at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday, December 29th and Place Bell in Laval, Quebec on Thursday, December 30th.
