Nick Khan reportedly backstage at WWE Smackdown and more news
Twitter account @WrestleVotes wrote the following about the September 24th 2021 edition of WWE Smackdown…
“Source states WWE president Nick Khan was backstage in Philadelphia last night for Smackdown, and was involved w/ Vince [McMahon] & Co throughout the day. Source wasn’t sure the nature of the meetings, but went on to say Khan being at TV isn’t an everyday thing.”
In other Smackdown news, Fightful Select noted that there had been talk of WWE’s relationship with FOX becoming “strained” in recent months. It was admitted by a FOX source that WWE viewership has been seen as “disappointing in comparison to expectations” although the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has been factored in.
WWE has seemingly been making efforts to keep FOX happy. Fightful added that McMahon and Khan recently scrapped plans for a RAW taping at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and made it a Smackdown event for Friday, December 10th instead.
