Top 10 women’s wrestlers that should should get a shot in WWE, AEW, or TNA
I’ve been a huge women’s wrestling fan since the mid-2000s, and I’ve seen a lot of women not able to get out of the indies and get a shot at the big time, even if they were super talented.
Even now, I feel there are a lot of really good wrestlers on the indies and in smaller promotions like WOW and OVW that deserve to get hired by one of the big 3. So I thought I would list the top 10 wrestlers that I think deserve a shot at the big time.
Haley J / Holly Swag: Here’s a young wrestler who has the total package—she’s young, athletic, and very beautiful. I first saw her wrestle in WOW alongside her mom as part of the Mother Truckers tag team before seeing her wrestle in OVW, and I wondered how she hasn’t received an offer from WWE, TNA, or AEW yet. That’s how marketable she is.
Santana Garrett: One of the best indy wrestlers on the scene right now and a veteran as well. She had a few matches in NXT back in the early days of the brand but never got signed officially, and I never understood why she didn’t get a shot.
The Beast: She’s the current WOW champion and a real powerhouse. She would be a great addition to any of the big promotions.
Tormenta: I get that she’s Mexican and can’t speak English, but she’s a really great lucha wrestler who could bring something different to any promotion.
Leyla Grey: Former OVW Women’s Champion and one of the better wrestlers in the OVW women’s division. She has the presence and the in-ring talent to be a good addition to any roster.
Freya the Slaya: Another powerhouse wrestler who is a really strong in-ring performer. Just by her size alone, she would fit well in either WWE or AEW.
The Hex: This is cheating a little bit since they’ve had a few shots in TNA over the years, but I think they are way too talented not to get a full-time contract from either WWE or TNA.
Nicole Matthews: Here’s another one I never understood—how has she never had a shot at the big time over the years? Probably one of the best wrestlers on the indies and a veteran of the game who deserves a shot.
K.C. Spinelli: Another veteran wrestler who I feel should have gotten a shot already. She’s most famous, at least in Canada, for being screwed over by Jacques Rougeau a few years ago when she didn’t want to split the prize money of Rougeau’s reality show with her opponent. This put all of them, including QT Marshall, in a difficult spot. I guess that’s why she didn’t get a shot at AEW, but she would fit really well in TNA.
LuFisto: I saved the biggest overlooked wrestler for last. If you don’t know who LuFisto is, you haven’t been watching the indy wrestling scene for the past 20-plus years. She’s one of the innovators of intergender wrestling, has wrestled all over the world, including some of the most violent matches in CZW history, and is an indy wrestling hall of famer. How this woman never got a shot at either WWE or TNA is criminal at this point. I get why she never got a shot in AEW because of what she said over the past few years about the AEW women’s roster after she was brought in as enhancement talent for Dark, but again, she could bring so much to either WWE or AEW and would also be a great trainer for the younger generation.
So there you have it, my list of the top 10 women wrestlers on the indies that I feel should get a shot to sign with either WWE, TNA, or AEW.
