State of Mind: Random Thoughts on Charlotte Flair, Tessa Blanchard, and more
State of Mind: Salad/ Consumption: Rolled
For those unfamiliar with the term, “salad” is island slang for a mix of different marijuana strains. As someone who always keeps a salad stash on hand, I find myself in a particularly cannabis-induced state of mind today, and I wanted to share some thoughts on a few different topics. Wrestling has been on my mind lately, so much so that I spent the day immersed in SmackDown!, Saturday Night’s Main Event, and Impact Wrestling, completely missing the NFC Championship game. So, it only makes sense to start there.
The Return of Tessa Blanchard:
I’m glad to see Tessa Blanchard back in the wrestling world. I understand the reasons behind her past controversies, but I also believe in the concept of penance and second chances. We all make mistakes, and it’s important to learn and grow from them. Tessa has seemingly paid her dues, and now it’s time to give her the opportunity to demonstrate that she has learned from her past.
Tessa is undeniably one of the most talented female wrestlers outside of the major promotions. If she has genuinely changed, she has the potential to make a significant impact on the wrestling landscape.
WWE Roster Movement:
With the recent “transfer window” (which I believe is slowly replacing the traditional draft), there have been several notable roster moves and rumors of call-ups. Considering the expanded programming hours for SmackDown and Raw, along with the introduction of new women’s title divisions, it’s clear that WWE’s main rosters are about to expand, particularly on the women’s side.
Given the current state of NXT, with its stacked women’s division and comparatively weaker men’s division, I predict we’ll see several female NXT stars move up to the main roster. Jordyn Grace seems like a sure bet, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend, Jakira Jackson, and possibly Cora Jade join her. There could also be a surprise call-up or two, perhaps someone like Nikita Lyons or Kelani Jordan. Coupled with the returns of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Jade Cargill, and Alexa Bliss, the women’s division is poised for a significant influx of talent.
A Tag Team with Big Upside:
The Rascalz have the potential to become a major force in tag team wrestling. Their in-ring style is a perfect blend of high-flying action and grounded storytelling, appealing to fans of both AEW and WWE. They possess a natural charisma, entertaining characters, and are young enough to be molded and further developed. Their new relationship with WWE will provide them with the exposure and guidance they need to reach their full potential. WWE clearly sees their potential, evidenced by their recent NXT tag team title match and the ongoing storyline with Wes Lee.
Charlotte Flair Should and Will Win the Royal Rumble:
While I’m not always a fan of how Charlotte Flair has been pushed in the past, I have to admit that her recent vignettes have been intriguing. Her absence has created a sense of anticipation, and Triple H has earned my trust with his booking decisions.
I believe Charlotte winning the Royal Rumble makes sense for several reasons. It would allow her to challenge Tiffany Stratton for the NXT Women’s Championship, providing Stratton with a high-profile opponent and a major WrestleMania moment. A victory over Charlotte would solidify Stratton’s position as a top star and truly usher in the “Tiffy Time” era.
Kids and Music:
I’m a big music fan, and I enjoy a wide range of genres, from death metal and hardcore to jazz and classic rock. Recently, my 10-year-old daughter, who is starting to develop her own musical tastes, surprised me with her appreciation for John Coltrane’s “Equinox.” It’s amazing to see her embrace instrumental jazz from decades past.
