MR. TITO: Ungrateful WWE Fans Booed Triple H After John Cena’s Retirement Match

I must be the only wrestling fan, on the planet, who remembers the entire 2010s decade and the early 2020s. There, online wrestling fans were calling Vince McMahon “senile” and were repeatedly calling for his retirement. In fact, I remember a time from 2019-2021 when many online wrestling fans claimed that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was “far better” than the WWE. Furthermore, it was claimed that Vince was losing because he had to overpay much of his talent during 2020 and 2021.

But now, you want Triple H to be terminated as Chief Content Officer, despite the amazing business his creative team and talent management has done from 2022-2025 which includes completing a highly successful John Cena retirement tour.

Many DUMBASS fans are legitimately calling for the return of Vince McMahon, the Master of the NDA, to the WWE. That’s right, the same clown that you claimed was “micromanaging the WWE” during the 2010s and early 2020s, you want him back.

Others want the Rock to flex his TKO Board muscles and “clean house”. If Rock were to somehow do that, he’d reinstall Rock “ball handler” Brian Gewirtz to run WWE Creative. Did you actually watch RAW from 2002-2003? You know, those years with Katie Vick, Hot Lesbian Action, and utterly bad character development and a dominant HHH champion? That was Brian’s work as lead writer for RAW. His best skill his writing funny lines for Rock, but his track record proves that he’s a lousy creative lead. His contributions helped the RAW lose many viewers during the initial phase of the brand split from 2002-2004 and RAW only stopped bleeding when John Cena was moved from Smackdown to RAW.

Oh, you want Undertaker to somehow take over creative? You say that one hand, but then you bash him for opening WWE doors for his wife, Michelle McCool. Ignoring that, do you really want the “Judge” of wrestler’s court from the 2000s to take over the book? The guy enabled his friends to get away with bullying without any consequence.

The NERVE of WWE fans in Washington to boo Triple H following John Cena’s match, along with the online clown fans joining in on that chatter. To single out Triple H for John Cena’s match is ridiculous, as literally Cena’s retirement tour and final night in the WWE was about PUTTING PEOPLE OVER. Look at last night’s Saturday Night’s Main Event Show… It was WWE stars versus NXT talent! DUH!!! That was the point of the show, to give a chance to up and coming stars. If John Cena defeats Gunther last night, that suggests that Gunther can only defeat old man Goldberg while losing big matches in 2025 against Jey Uso (which looks really terrible in hindsight) and John Cena. You would have diminished a top guy for a retiring one.

For the record, I’ve been HIGHLY critical of Triple H for the past 27 years as a columnist. I thought that he was too political as a wrestler, called him out repeatedly during the 2010s when he was in charge of Creative and Talent as an EVP, and I’ve held him accountable for the past 3 years. I have many, many POSTED columns to prove it.

But I’ll be damned if anyone puts down the WWE from 2022-2025, especially when the previous 21 years of micromanagement by Vince McMahon was a nightmare that everybody wanted to end.

John Cena started off his career with Kurt Angle putting him over. Cena ends his career with him putting over Gunther. It’s poetic… Join WWE with a star putting you over, and then leave putting someone over.

And not only that, look at John Cena’s 2025 year… He got to wrestle Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, CM Punk, Sami Zayn, and Dominik Mysterio. In several of those cases, he put his shoulders to the mat… Dominik Mysterio’s biggest win, to date, is against John Cena while Punk, Cody, and Styles received fantastic matches with Cena.

Sure, you can argue about the heel turn… BUT REMEMBER, the heel turn was a pivot because the Rock left the WWE at the altar for Wrestlemania 41. Rock made his in-ring return during 2024, but opted out of performing for 2025 with Hollywood calling. Thus, Triple H’s creative regime created the MOST talked about heel turn in years with John Cena turning at Elimination Chamber and that pumped up Wrestlemania 41’s ticket sales in expensive-ass Las Vegas by over 10,000 ticket sales for both days.

Could the heel turn has been better? Sure, but again, the TKO Board member didn’t make himself available to appear at Wrestlemania 41 and I also think that WWE fans struggled to cheer Cody Rhodes over John Cena. Despite Cena trying to be a heel, WWE fans loved and appreciated him too much to boo him.

Despite having hardly any Rock or Roman Reigns since Wrestlemania 40, Triple H has done well elevating other stars to take their spots while also making John Cena’s retirement tour interesting. Numbers speak for themselves. RAW brand’s tickets are selling well, PLE events are drawing well, and ESPN gladly gave WWE a big check to host PLEs. Smackdown brand sucks, but literally everything sucks on cable right now (including AEW).

Again, go back to remembering your pre-2022 feelings… Hell, even the Bloodline. I remember people during 2021 calling it “stale”. Come 2022, Triple H added some spice to the Bloodline by adding Sami Zayn and that changed the entire landscape for the Bloodline group. People fail to forget how good 2023’s Rumble to Wrestlemania was, as Zayn turned on the Bloodline and that ignited amazing events feeding into Wrestlemania 39. On top of that, Triple H built Cody Rhodes into a massive star while CM Punk is THRIVING in Triple H’s environment. Many other wrestlers are thriving under HHH, too, like Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Dominik Mysterio, and Women’s wrestling is really doing well (and Triple H was the one who elevated that through 2015).

As I said in my previous column, Cena’s “retirement tour” is unprecedented as other stars couldn’t stop wrestling after they “retired”. The closest situation that I can think of was Ric Flair’s last WWE match against Shawn Michaels with that emotional ending, but nobody attacked the WWE or Vince McMahon for that ending during the 2000s. No, we celebrated Ric Flair’s career instead… Which is what we should do with John Cena, who just had a fantastic 23 year career. No, crybaby fans in Washington had to boo Triple H and then online fans continued that embarrassment by spewing venom, as keyboard warriors, all over social media or loser forums.

Go watch WWE events from 2010 through 2021… Be my guest. Enjoy that overpushed Roman Reigns as an inexperienced babyface. Enjoy most of the NXT call-ups getting hit with a creative buzzsaw when joining the main roster. Enjoy the Charlotte Flair domination. Is that what you really want? Because that baffles me because I distinctly remember hearing NOTHING BUT COMPLAINTS about “senile” Vince’s creative decisions. Again, I must be the only one who remembers what was said just 4 years ago with Vince in charge. If you’re willing to support “Captain NDA” and want him to return, then your morals are off as well.

The toxic WWE fanbase doesn’t know when they have a good thing going… Sure, the TKO Corporation is meddling and price gouging. Won’t disagree, as I’ve written multiple columns calling out the price gouging TKO bastards. However, I’ll take 2022-2025 WWE over 2010-2021 WWE any day of the week and am willing to debate anyone on those eras.

Booing Triple H, the one who has made the WWE better since 2022… You are out of your minds. Then again, I see your negative attacks underneath my columns and other posts here at NoDQ. I see your utter garbage posted on social media. Many online fans cannot see the forest for the trees while they can’t smell their own sh*t on their knees. Sure, the economy is tough for anyone who isn’t a millionaire right now, but that doesn’t mean random things should become your vehicles for venting your own personal frustrations. WWE is much better today than just 4 years ago, but you hate it anyway. Miserable f*cks…

Fine, let’s terminate Triple H… When you get rid of him, you’ll get rid of the system of delegation that he built, too. HHH doesn’t rule backstage like a dictator like Vince did. No, HHH has delegated duties and elevated others on the creative team to add their input. Instead of pushing back on Bruce Prichard, clearly a Vince Stooge, he has kept him around and made him part of the collective along with Paul Heyman whom Vince disliked having any creative input. Many other writers on the Creative Team wrote scripts that Vince McMahon shredded… Now, their input is sought after and they feel a sense of purpose for once and WWE is getting better ideas from the team because they are allowed to have a say. Before, they wrote creative just to please one man with Vince.

If Vince is brought back, you not only have a public relations nightmare at anytime, but he’ll return to being a dictator of creative.

Undertaker has zero experience running a creative team.

The Rock’s boy Brian already tried his hand and his early to mid 2000s shows sucked under his creative lead.

You know what? If I were Triple H, I’d just cash in my TKO stock and say “hell with it”. If these MARKS cannot appreciate a good thing, then why is it worth it? Let these ungrateful WWE fans suffer again. They’ll get the same TKO price hikes but terrible creative without Triple H.

The irony is that arenas have been selling out, everywhere, for the John Cena Retirement tour and yet foolish fans are booing the creative mind that helped make that a major success. Cena looks like a million bucks as he heads out the door and Gunther gets all of the heat for defeating everybody’s hero. That’s a GREAT DAY for the WWE, yet many miserable fans cannot recognize it.

Y’all suck and with time, you’ll know it.
