MR. TITO: Is There Something Wrong with WWE’s Wrestlemania 41 in Las Vegas? Sluggish Ticket Sales?
So I’m looking at Wrestlemania 41 ticket data… Through February 7th and according to WrestleTix, WWE has sold about 44,000 to 45,000 tickets thus far and the Las Vegas NFL football venue has been currently set-up for 51,481 seats. While that does sound impressive for a few years ago, keep in mind that WWE Royal Rumble 2026 in Indianapolis just sold 70,000 tickets while last year’s Wrestlemania sold 60,000 for each night.
But, with due respect to the cities of Philadelphia and Indianapolis, they aren’t Las Vegas with a lot more to do and places to go for incoming wrestling fans.
Now, it’s only February… BUT this is Wrestlemania, WWE’s top show of the year. Shouldn’t they be close to selling out this venue by now, while also causing it to have more seats opening up? As it stands now, Allegiant Stadium can hold up to 72,000, as shown by the recent hosting of the Super Bowl that pushed its capacity but likely could be pushed to do more with floor tickets and if the WWE doesn’t take up one side of the stadium for its massive Wrestlemania set.
Something else is at play here… If the WWE is so hot right now and the Rumble just did 70,000, why hasn’t Wrestlemania sold more tickets?
Let’s look at prices… With myself heavily researching Royal Rumble 2025 tickets in Indianapolis, the range was as low as $160 to as high as $3,000. How about Wrestlemania 41 in Las Vegas?
As low as $300 and as high as $11,305!!!
AND you need to consider how expensive Las Vegas is… Flights to Las Vegas are generally more expensive than most other cities, but the city is equipped with more hotels than normal and oddly enough, many resorts keep prices low under the assumption that you’ll gamble. And then that’s when things get expensive, baby! If you dare to have any fun in the city that NEVER sleeps beyond being in your hotel room and attending Wrestlemania, then it’s going to cost you an arm and a leg for that weekend. THAT SAID, I know many fans who try to attend every Wrestlemania and that’s their vacation… But this year’s prices are higher than ever. We’ll see if this trip breaks them or not.
With its current set-up, WWE has about 7,000 tickets open and they could open up the arena to sell 20,000 more if they DEMAND was there.
So why isn’t the demand there? It’s WRESTLEMANIA after all, right? Would that show’s title, alone, sell tickets? Wouldn’t WWE’s collection of marquee stars help sell tickets?
See, here’s the thing… Are WWE fans into the proposed Wrestlemania 41 card?
So far, from what we know, we’ll potentially see the following card:
– John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes
– Jey Uso vs. Gunther
– Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns
– Rhea Ripley vs. either Bianca Belair/Becky Lynch
– Charlotte Flair vs. Tiffany Stratton
Decent show, but I’m just not feeling it to be SPECIAL like what a Wrestlemania show should be.
Sorry, but booking Punk vs. Rollins vs. Reigns is LAZY BOOKING. Triple Threat matches SUCK. Want me to display the typical blueprint for WWE Triple Threat matches? Wrestler A, B, and C all lock up in the ring and trade offense but then Wrestler C takes a nap outside. We then get Wrestler A and B wrestling for about 5 minutes until Wrestler C wakes up from his nap and takes out Wrestler B. It’s time for Wrestler B’s nap… Wrestler A and C wrestle for 5 minutes until Wrestler B wakes up from his nap and does a high impact move, likely the announcers’ table, on Wrestler A. Wrestler A then takes a nap on the broken announcer’s table while Wrestler B and C wrestle for 5 minutes. Then, Wrestler A wakes from his nap to break a near fall when either Wrestler B or C do a finisher on each other and then we repeatedly trade finishers between the 3 wrestlers until one of the wrestlers gets knocked to the outside for another nap and then multiple more finishers are hit.
You are ashamed because of how accurately I mapped out the Triple Threat match in WWE, aren’t you.
And I realize the WWE’s thinking here, as if they have Rollins vs. Punk vs. Roman, they can save Punk vs. Roman for another Pay Per View headliner. Because, once again, when you have Punk vs. Roman in a one-on-one match, it’s no longer special and it’s additional revenue generated will soon diminish upon trying any further rematches. But again, THIS IS WRESTLEMANIA… Save the LAZY Triple Threat booking for Fast Lane or any other non-Big 3 Premium Live Event. Go big and go strong when it comes to Wrestlemania. Sorry, but Seth Rollins is the 3rd wheel in this equation, as we’ve already seen both Punk and Roman dispatch of Seth and with due respect to the hard work that Seth has put into this WWE career, Punk and Roman are the bigger stars.
I just don’t see a Triple Threat between Rollins, Punk and Reigns convincing people to spend between $300 to $11,000 plus expensive travel, hotels, and food to see Wrestlemania 41.
And then there is Jey Uso… Look, I understand that kids LOVE him. But they are kids and unless they actually put down the iPads and Nintendos to shovel snow this winter and cut grass during the Summers, they aren’t affording a trip to Wrestlemania 41. Are their parents willing to pay for high priced Wrestlemania tickets and expensive travel/food/hotels to bring their kids to Las Vegas to “YEET” in person or could they do it for far cheaper in the comforts of their living room?
Sorry, folks, as I’ve been trying to be patient, but I’m NOT buying Jey Uso as the 2025 Rumble winner. He’s NOT a main event level wrestler at this point, as he has ZERO marquee wins against top WWE stars. Being appealing to children with an entrance is NOT and I repeat NOT going to equate to long-term success for Jey Uso as WWE Champion. Sorry, but his in-ring abilities do not match the major entrance that the WWE production crew gives him.
By the way, isn’t a lesson of Jey Uso that GOOD RING MUSIC matters? WWE is blowing so much money by providing so many BAD theme songs to its superstars.
Fact is that Jey Uso still works like a Tag Team Wrestler… He gets in high spots when he’s on offense, but nothing psychological to help extend the match and keep him fresh. Instead, he does his high impact moves and then sells for lengths at a time as if he’s waiting for a hot tag. It’s not there, so he does the same offense that he previously tried with a mix of maybe a body splash from the top rope and a spear attempted with less body weight than others who hot the spear. Jey Uso needs his own finisher BADLY and something that he attempt easily and convincingly.
Jey Uso is literally Daniel Bryan with a better bill of health, but weaker in-ring skills. Like Daniel, once Jey gets that World Title, that’s the peak and it’s all downhill after that as the appetite to see him defend the title will drop. The thrill is in Jey Uso’s chase but he’s just not convincing enough to look like a dominant World Champion. There’s a missing “it” factor from him that would make him appear “larger than life”, as he dresses, acts, and looks like the fans who are buying those foam hands and chanting “YEET” during his entrance with him.
For John Cena, that’s a shell of his former self out there. I think he left a clump of his hair in a ring during 2018 and he just doesn’t feel anything close to his peak self. He’s older, not as committed due to his acting career, and the rest of the WWE has passed him by. I won’t be impressed if Cody Rhodes defeats Cena because I’ve seen Cena try to put over other wrestlers, such as Solo Sikoa already. Thus, Cody defeating Cena doesn’t feel special and Cody losing to Cena makes his big victory over Roman at Wrestlemania 40 seem reduced in value by losing to an older part-time Cena.
Big mistake by WWE to allow Charlotte Flair to win the Rumble match. Once again, the entitled 2nd generation wrestler gets what she wants and another easy path thrown her way following extensive time off. And WWE wanted to push her as a babyface, once again, but the WWE fans are tired of blonde Cher being shoved down their throats once again. The best route would be for her to challenge Tiffany Stratton but that Tiffany humbles her at Wrestlemania 41. Doubtful, as it appears that the Charlotte MEGA PUSH is back on and going to be adding to her ridiculous 14-time title inflation that’s already been there for the last 10 years.
Sorry, as I hate to seem like a Debbie Downer, but this Wrestlemania 41 feels under-whelming to me at the moment. After Wrestlemania 40, we were promised to eventually get Roman vs. the Rock or possibly the Rock vs. Cody, but now, we’re not getting either match at all. Fine, we’ll get CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns instead, per the Survivor Series promise made by Paul Heyman. Nope, we’ll shove Seth Rollins into Punk vs. Roman to make a LAME Triple Threat match instead with lots of wrestlers napping on the outside. I don’t believe in Jey Uso as a main eventer, and I’m tired of the same old Charlotte Flair pushed down our throats as a main eventer.
If you’re a long-time WWE fan who loves using their vacation time to travel to each Wrestlemania, then I don’t blame you for sitting this one out. It lacks the star power and bigtime match-ups that a Wrestlemania should have.
Of course, I’ll watch it… Why wouldn’t I watch it? WWE has been on a heater for the past 3-4 years, but there’s NO WAY I’d dare to pay the ridiculous ticket prices along with expensive travel to see this show live. Thus, I think WWE’s Wrestlemania 41 ticket sales could be a tad sluggish getting to 50,000 unless the card is rebooked beyond the current rumored card (or lure the Rock away from his latest subpar action film that he’s doing). If you’re paying these high prices for the current rumored card, you’re out of your freakin’ mind.
