Another Intercontinental Championship opportunity awaits The Miz…or not yet?

Heel Miz is just AWE-SOME! The Miz has been known as the one who established the prestige of the Intercontinental Championship, as he plays his character well and defends the championship in great fashion. I had really high hopes for another awesome title run, but watching Raw recently, the booking is not in favor of The Miz…as of now.

This heel turn happened during the September 30th episode of Raw, where The Miz and R-Truth were in a tag team match against Authors of Pain, while The Miz accepted a hot tag from a downed R-Truth, The Miz went inside the ropes and immediately kicked R-Truth’s face which followed-up by a walk out and tearing of Awesome Truth shirt. While the entire run of Awesome Truth was indeed awesome, it is just the right time for The Miz to go for a heel singles run. It will be perfect if it is an indication for a title shot.

As The Miz is currently stucked with the Wyatt 6 storyline, there is nowhere that he will eventually escape the storyline, or worse, it could be in the same path with Chad Gable as a heel with nothing else to expect but to be a jobber. I have sympathies however, to Chad Gable, as he barely accomplished anything historic rather than a few midcard title victories and being undefeated to Gunther in comparison to The Miz being a so-called “A-Lister” and being a former 2-time world champion.

Now, the point here is The Miz still has more (not just one) for him to do, and he can still win multiple championships and other accomplishments in WWE for the next three years to say the least. Right now, as of the time of this posting, Bron Breakker is the current Intercontinental champion and defeated Jey Uso on an episode of Raw last October 22, 2024. If WWE creative seriously meant that heel turn for The Miz and really took good care of him, he should have challenged Jey Uso for the Intercontinental title and beat him. If that was the case, then The Miz resolidified himself as The Miz who was untouchable if he is holding that same championship title.

Going back to Bron Breakker, he already has everything especially when he is inside the ring. Bron is a beast on its own. He did not even have to win it back from Jey anyway, but they still gave it to him as a sign of roster dominance and potential threat in the world title picture. Where is The Miz now? Probably went down from booking relevance with the Wyatt 6 and their own shenanigans. Thankfully, he is not as worse as “The American Made” or “LWO” kind of storyline where they always do some random matches every week just to be featured on television but does not even care on whether they lose multiple times in a row.

However, this does not mean that the current storyline between The Miz and Wyatt 6 is bad, but let’s see how this story progresses since this will be another opportunity for Bo Dallas and The Miz to cross paths again after his stint as The Miz’s “MizTourage” years ago together with Curtis Axel. I am also interested in how people are invested in this storyline as WWE is always testing the waters whether a certain storyline draws much interest from the viewers, which The Bloodline storyline never disappoints.

The Miz has been an exceptional wrestler since his WWE debut, one of the most successful until now, and one of my personal favorites. He just needs a shiny title belt around his waist to give him credit by staying in WWE amidst leadership change since Vince McMahon left the company due to various accusations. Whether it is in the aspect of personal or professional level, The Miz gives his all in doing such given assignment, and he makes it remarkable every time he does. This is the main reason why he is The Miz, and he is AWESOME!
