WWE reportedly scrapped a Wrestlemania 39 segment involving LA Knight
As previously noted, LA Knight was reportedly pitched as a potential opponent for Steve Austin for WWE Wrestlemania 39. In the weeks prior to the event, Knight was teasing that he would have a Wrestlemania moment and NXT announcer Booker T publicly expressed interest in Knight having a match against Bobby Lashley.
Twitter account @WKRDWresting noted the following…
“A noticeable on-screen absence from this weekend’s Wrestlemania was LA Knight, even after saying, ‘Wrestlemania will get that LA Knight moment!’ We’re told Knight was scheduled to have a segment with Lashley on night two. We are unsure, as of now, why the change was made.”
Lashley ended up going out on the stage with his Andre The Giant battle royal trophy during Sunday’s show but didn’t have a match. Knight did not appear on either night of Wrestlemania.
