WWE referee comments on JD McDonagh getting injured during match on RAW

As seen during the January 27th 2025 edition of WWE RAW, JD McDonagh went for a springboard moonsault to the outside of the ring but took a scary bump where he bounced off the announce table. Following the event, McDonagh revealed that he suffered a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Shawn Bennett, who was the referee for the match, shared a photo McDonagh doing a moonsault after the table bump along with the following message via Twitter/X…

“Last night, I looked directly into the eyes of a man that wouldn’t stop for nothing. The pain, fire, & fight were all raging inside him. Then he got up and did this. Unreal. Love to @jd_mcdonagh. I look forward to when he returns w/ the pure passion he brings to work everyday.”

Ivar of The War Raiders also wrote “RESPECT 🙏” to McDonagh.
