WWE NXT tag team that competed at Stand and Deliver 2023 reportedly asks for their releases

As seen during the 2023 WWE NXT Stand and Deliver PLE kickoff show, Tyler Bate and Chase University (Thea Hail, Duke Hudson and Andre Chase) defeated Schism (Ava Raine, Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid) by pinfall.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com is reporting that Reid and Fowler, formerly known as the Grizzled Young Veterans, have asked for their releases from WWE. Dave Meltzer later reported that the request was granted.

Reid and Fowler first worked for the WWE United Kingdom brand as James Drake and Zack Gibson. In 2022, the duo’s names were changed and they joined up with Joe Gacy’s Schism faction.

At this time, it’s unknown why Reid and Fowler want to leave WWE. Reid did tweet the following following Stand and Deliver…

“Dark match. Pre show. Main show. Different names. It doesn’t matter. We’ll always deliver. We’ll always be 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲𝗱.”
