WWE news items regarding Triple H, Lacey Evans, and Io Shirai

Here are a few WWE news items via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com…

* In regards to reports about Triple H and NXT, he reportedly hasn’t been doing anything directly with the brand and hasn’t been present at the television tapings. When Triple H recently told people that “he’s back” from his hiatus, the belief is that he meant he was returning to his office work.

* In regards to Lacey Evans’ creative direction, the idea was always for her vignettes to lead to her being a heel. Meltzer explained the process:

“They filmed these segments making her the ultimate survivor of a bad upbringing, who overcame it, won women’s wrestling tournaments and served in the marines and made it to WWE. Then, as a babyface, they did nothing with her, with the long-game idea to not get her over as a face for the turn.”

* In regards to Io Shirai’s status with WWE, Meltzer noted the following…

“We haven’t heard about her signing a new deal this week after checking but there is an offer on the table and her current deal hasn’t expired yet.”
