WWE news items regarding Randy Orton’s injury, 2023 Day 1 PLE, and a possible AEW chant on RAW
Here are a few WWE news items via Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter…
* Randy Orton has been out of action since the May 20th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown when him and Matt Riddle dropped the RAW tag team titles to The Usos. In an update, Meltzer noted that “there is a lot of concern regarding Orton’s back injury and its severity.”
* In addition to Crown Jewel 2022, Brock Lesnar is currently scheduled for the 2023 Day 1 PLE. Meltzer added that the January 1st date for Day 1 hasn’t been finalized but will still likely take place at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena even if the date is changed. A decision is expected to be made this week.
* The October 10th 2022 edition of WWE RAW will be celebrating D-Generation X’s 25th anniversary. In regards to AEW’s Billy Gunn possibly making an appearance, Meltzer wrote the following…
“There was a chance a few months ago that they could have gotten him since Tony Khan allowed his talent to do taped interviews on the John Cena show, but the lay of the land tells me the odds aren’t as good for that to happen now. I was told that if a ‘Daddy Ass’ chant happens they’ll be ready.”
