WWE is hoping to break Royal Rumble PLE record with the 2024 show

As seen during the December 11th 2023 edition of WWE RAW, CM Punk declared himself for the 2024 Royal Rumble match. The Rumble PLE takes place on January 27th 2024 at Tropicana Field in Tampa, FL.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that WWE is trying to break the record live gate of $7.7 million in ticket sales from the 2023 event. Meltzer stated the following…

“Royal Rumble is doing great in ticket sales, I don’t know the number but they are projecting a gate of close to $8 million. I think they’re looking for the largest paid attendance or second largest, you know the Alamodome one year ago. They’re looking at 50,000 people for this one. It’s gonna have to be 50,000 sold now, but that’s what they’re hoping for, especially with the announcement of Punk in the match.” (quote courtesy of RingsideNews.com)

The 2024 Rumble PLE’s date will be the exact 10-year anniversary of Punk walking out on WWE.
