WWE Hall of Famer to be guest referee for CM Punk vs. Ricky Starks “world title” match against Summerslam

During the July 29th 2023 edition of AEW Collision, CM Punk pulled out his AEW world title that he was never defeated for from the red bag he carried to the ring. Punk proclaimed him the “real” world champion and spray painted an “X” on the belt.

Ricky Starks came to the ring and wanted a match for the title since he beat Punk twice. Punk agreed to the match but said that WWE Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will be the special guest referee to make sure there is no cheating.

The match will take place on the August 5th edition of Collision that will go head-to-head with WWE Summerslam.
