WWE Hall of Famer Booker T calls AEW “a retirement spot” for certain wrestlers
While speaking on his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and his co-host Brad Gilmore commented on the possibility of Chris Jericho staying with AEW. Here was the exchange…
Gilmore: “We know Jericho’s contract is coming up, and Tony [Khan] said, ‘Well, I’d like to have him back in AEW.’ So we don’t know where Chris is going. Do you know where he’s going? I don’t know where he’s going.”
Booker T: “Over there, man. I wish they had an AEW route when I was doing this thing. I would’ve camped out — I’d have just camped out, made myself a little tent. I wouldn’t have been going anywhere, man. Because I’m serious, they pay you not to work in AEW.
Ric Flair is still under contract from what I’ve been hearing. I’m serious — what has Ric Flair done for AEW? Look here, bro. Like I say, it’s a safe haven. It’s definitely a retirement spot if you’re looking to wrap this thing up the right way. I get it, man. I get it. Seriously.”
