As seen during the February 21st 2025 edition of WWE Smackdown, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed that Wrestlemania 42 will take place in New Orleans, LA. In a press conference after Smackdown ended, Rock commented on what WWE originally wanted to do for the announcement…

“We were going to be part of the Super Bowl and make the announcement at the Super Bowl, that we were coming here to New Orleans. We had a couple of hiccups, and we couldn’t make that happen.
