What was reportedly planned for Jeff Hardy prior to his release from WWE

Jeff Hardy, who was released from his WWE contract following an incident at a live event, was reportedly going to be involved with the NXT 2.0 brand prior to his departure.

Fightful Select noted the following…

“Jeff Hardy was originally planned to be the ‘Shaman’ for MSK. Just days before the reveal was to happen, Hardy was released by the company, and Matt Ridddle had to rush to film content with MSK to make it work.”

It is believed that “numerous” segments featuring Hardy as The Shaman were left on the cutting room floor.

Riddle will team up with MSK (Wes Lee and Nash Carter) in a match against Imperium’s Walter, Fabian Aichner, and Marcel Barthel during tonight’s New Year’s Evil edition of NXT.
