What is being said about WWE wanting to sign “key younger talent” away from AEW
In late September of 2023, WWE signed Jade Cargill away from AEW while AEW signed Adam Copeland (Edge) away from WWE.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that while there will likely continue to be movement in both directions, WWE is interested in signing the “key younger talent” from AEW. According to Meltzer, one person from WWE believes that it will be a similar situation as WCW or TNA where those companies signed older WWE talent and WWE signed their younger talent.
Meltzer wrote the following…
“The claim is that a pipeline has developed and some of the younger AEW stars are already talking about leaving when their deals are up. Even in AEW there are people saying the same thing, that it’s known that people are looking to leave and the hope is that the number is few because the perception of AEW as the AAA league in wrestling (a baseball reference for the top feeder league, not a wrestling reference) would not be good for AEW.”
