What is being said about The Rock’s status for WWE WrestleMania 41 amid television absence

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has not appeared on WWE television since the 2025 Elimination Chamber PLE in Toronto, Canada. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that there are currently plans for Rock’s ally Travis Scott to be at WrestleMania 41 but Rock’s status remains up the air.

Meltzer wrote the following about the situation…

“Everyone presumes he’ll be there in some form the day of the show, but it’s not confirmed to anyone either. Perhaps his appearance is being kept secret, but I’m not sure why given everyone would expect him to begin with. But that’s why these last few weeks the name has barely been mentioned and even when it is, only in passing.”

Meltzer added that the original WrestleMania idea was likely for Rock to help John Cena win the WWE world title from Cody Rhodes. There has also been speculation about “Stone Cold” Steve Austin potentially helping Cody.
