What is being said about John Cena’s creative direction for Survivor Series following Intercontinental title victory

As seen during the November 10th 2025 edition of WWE RAW, John Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio to become the new Intercontinental champion. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com stated the following about Cena’s creative direction for Survivor Series…

“Now that (John) Cena already beat Dominik (Mysterio) for the title I thought that means that match (Mysterio vs. Cena) isn’t happening in San Diego. I figured why not do Cena, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes and make it like a dream team for the babyface team at WarGames. Now I can tell you that that’s not happening, because I thought ‘what a great idea’ and I was just told ‘not even close.’”

“Rey and Dominik are not wrestling in San Diego, so I did find that out too. I don’t know what that means. I don’t know if that means Cena and Dom is still on or they’re going in a different direction to where they were going, because the Cena and Dom title change was going to be in San Diego originally, not in Boston.” (quotes courtesy of WrestlePurists.com)
