Update regarding when Rusev aka Miro will potentially make a WWE comeback
It was reported in February of 2025 that Ricky Starks, Malakai Black, and Miro were all no longer working for AEW. Starks debuted with WWE NXT and there have been rumors about Black and Miro (formerly Rusev) returning to WWE as well.
During WrestleVotes Radio on Sportskeeda.com’s Backstage Pass Patreon, the following was said about Rusev potentially making a WWE comeback…
“We are told there is interest within WWE to bring back Miro, aka the former Rusev, to the company. One source said nothing is currently imminent, with the expectation that a deal could be reached towards the end of the calendar year. Miro was in the WWE from 2010 to 2020 where he was released as part of budget cuts in April of that year. He is a former three-time United States Champion and saw the highlights of his WWE tenure come with his WrestleMania 31 match versus John Cena as well as the incredibly over Rusev day gimmick he had in 2018. TC, again, we don’t expect anything imminent, anything over the next few months before we end this 2025 expect to see Rusev back.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
