Update regarding Rhea Ripley dealing with a legitimate injury that will keep her “out for a while”
As seen during the October 29th 2024 edition of NXT, Rhea Ripley was brutally attacked in the parking lot by WWE women’s world champion Liv Morgan and Raquel and WWE reported that Rhea suffered a fractured right orbital socket.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com provided details on Rhea’s situation…
“She’s got a fractured orbital bone. So, the injury that they announced is pretty much legit. Yeah, it happened last week. I’m not sure, probably the last TV thing, because she hasn’t worked any house shows. So probably in the last TV angle that she did with Raquel, you know, was where it happened most likely.
She is going to be out for a while, and I guess that’s, I don’t know, 100% that’s why she’s not on the pay-per-view, because I did hear that match for the pay-per-view. It happened last week, and then they did this thing as a cover because, you know, to basically have a reason for her to be out of action.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, it is believed that the injury likely happened on the October 21st edition of RAW when Rhea confronted Liv and Raquel and there was a headbutt spot. Johnson also noted the following…
”The angle to take her out of action on this past Tuesday’s NXT episode was a late addition to the show, likely filmed there because it was Orlando and Ripley would not have to fly to do an angle. We are told Ripley has been pulled from this weekend’s WWE Raw taping in Saudi Arabia as well. There is no word on a timeline for her return at this time.”
