Update regarding Bryan Danielson’s broken orbital bone injury
As previously noted, Bryan Danielson suffered a broken orbital bone and could be out of action until the end of 2023.
In regards to the injury, Justin Barrasso of SI.com reported that Bryan was actually hurt during a match against Andrade from the October 21st 2023 edition of Collision. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com provided more details…
“He went in [into the October 25th edition of Dynamite] with a black eye. They didn’t know how serious it was, but obviously he worked on it, and they shot the angle to take him out during the match.”
“So the injury took place when they bonked heads, it was a total, basically a fluke. Just one of those things. Wasn’t like he got hit too hard or anything. Andrade was doing a spinning elbow and Danielson’s head was in one place, and his head was in a place, and they bonked heads.” (quotes courtesy of WrestleTalk.com)
Yeah, I'm almost positive the Bryan Danielson injury happened here on the rolling elbow. Clonked heads, communication with the ref and right in to the finish.
Also, if you watch the tag match from Dynamite Bryan already has a mouse under his eye before he even does anything pic.twitter.com/m7XeybaC8p
