Update on the timeline for Kevin Owens’ potential WWE return
As seen during the April 4th 2025 edition of WWE Smackdown, it was revealed that Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens for WWE WrestleMania 41 had been canceled due to Owens needing neck surgery. Owens confirmed that he underwent successful neck fusion surgery in July of 2025.
Sources indicated to Bodyslam.net that Owens is set to undergo re-evaluation this summer to see how things are coming along recovery wise. Another source stated that WWE is hopeful that Owens will be able to return at some point in 2026.
In August, Owens stated the following about his recovery…
“The thing is now we have to see how the bones fuse, and there’s no guarantee that it’s going to work. It’s all my body heals, and we’ll see. Some guys had success, some guys didn’t. Fingers crossed, I get to come back to wrestling in the next year.”
