Update on the rumors surrounding Mercedes Mone aka Sasha Banks and the 2024 Royal Rumble

As previously noted, talks between WWE and Mercedes Mone aka Sasha Banks for a return reportedly fell through and it was reported that she could be officially joining AEW in early 2024.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com noted the following regarding the rumors of Mercedes potentially showing up in the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match…

“I asked a WWE source this weekend who had been working on the Royal Rumble about the possibility of Mercedes Mone showing up. ‘Well, we’re not really interested in contract tampering with her, so I doubt it.’ was their reply.”

According to PWInsider.com, Mercedes was spotted today in Boston, MA and there has been “zero discussion” about her in WWE circles as of late. While some in WWE believe that Mercedes is heading to AEW, some are reportedly taking a “I won’t believe she’s not returning until she’s somewhere else” stance.
