Update on The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes situation heading into WWE Wrestlemania 40 Kickoff
As previously noted, Dwayne” The Rock” vs. Roman Reigns is believed to be a “lock” for WWE Wrestlemania 40 unless something unforeseen happens such as an injury. Fans have been wanting to see Cody Rhodes “finish the story” at Wrestlemania and the #WeWantCody movement has been trending on social media for days.
The Wrestlemania 40 Kickoff press conference takes place tonight in Las Vegas, NV. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com discussed the situation heading into tonight’s event…
“Dwayne wanted it [vs. Reigns] to be Mania, and that’s true. You know, there are people who thought it might be better on another show. I know people who suggested the idea of Saudi Arabia for Dwayne and Cody for Wrestlemania, but Dwayne wanted Wrestlemania.”
“Whatever they’re doing, whether it’s a three-way which I was told it was not going to be, whether they do two matches, with Roman wrestling twice, or whatever to do to make this thing work, I was told that it will likely be completed by the end of the press conference. I was told that is the plan.” (quotes courtesy of SEScoops.com)
WWE shared footage of Rock arriving in Las Vegas and he said that he believes the press conference will be talked about “forever.” Rock then signed off as “the long gamer.”
