Update on the report that CM Punk was involved in a backstage incident with William Regal

As previously noted, CM Punk was reportedly involved in an incident with William Regal while both worked for AEW. It was claimed that Punk refused to shake Regal’s hand and referred to Regal as a ‘stooge for Triple H.’”

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com noted the following about the incident…

“Whatever it was, at the time, Regal didn’t even tell anybody. He told friends of his months later, and when he told them, he made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a big deal, but that’s what he was saying that it wasn’t a big deal.” (quote courtesy of RingsideNews.com)

Dave Meltzer also mentioned that the alleged incident had nothing to do with Regal eventually leaving the company and returning to WWE.
