Update on the latest hush money allegations made towards Vince McMahon
A previously noted, a new report claims that Vince McMahon agreed to pay $12 million in hush money to four women over a 16-year period.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that backstage at this week’s Smackdown, things were said to have been “business as usual” and “everyone, especially Vince” acted like nothing happened. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com also reported that Vince McMahon was running the creative direction of Smackdown. Johnson wrote the following…
“We are also told that McMahon, who arrived later than usual, did not address ‘or sell’ the latest Wall Street Journal article about him, his NDAs, etc. It was described, once again, as the elephant in the room that was being ignored.”
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer talked about the the latest allegations…
“I think these are all the NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements). I don’t know, but I think these are all the NDAs and I think the other stories are just women who didn’t get money and just, you know, whatever. Didn’t want to fight Vince. Always wanted the chance to come back.
The people who went after Vince are the ones who didn’t want to come back because if you wanted to come back, you don’t do this. So, that’s the carrot that Vince has in these situations, so these are people who, for whatever reason, went to him knowing that by doing this that they’re never coming back.” (quote courtesy of RingsideNews.com)
