Update on plans for the WWE women’s tag team titles heading into Wrestlemania 39

As seen during the March 6th 2023 edition of WWE RAW, Trish Stratus issued a challenge to Bayley for a six-woman tag team match at Wrestlemania 39. Bayley accepted the match which will be her along with Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai against Trish along with women’s tag team champions Becky Lynch and Lita.

It was previously reported that Ronda Rousey is dealing with a legitimate injury. In regards to reports of Rousey and Shayna Baszler challenging for the women’s tag team titles at Wrestlemania 39, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following…

“They still have a tag title match, there’s gonna be two matches coming out of this program. Whoever are the champions will wrestle Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, but they’re also doing the six-woman. I don’t know if Kai and Sky are gonna win the belts back or it’s gonna be Lita and Becky Lynch. But Rousey and Baszler are still getting the tag team title shot as has been planned all along. And likely winning them, unless Rousey’s injury doesn’t heal, which they are right now of the impression that she’s not gonna be 100% healed, but the impression is that she will be ready to do the match.” (quote courtesy of WrestleTalk.com)
