Update on MJF’s status with AEW following report of him landing a movie role
MJF, who is currently taking time off from AEW, joined the cast of Netflix‘s sequel to Happy Gilmore starring Adam Sandler. Happy Gilmore 2 is scheduled for a release on Netflix in March of 2025. A video clip of MJF filming with Sandler recently surfaced online…

According to Fightful.com, MJF has a “significant role” in the movie and was filming throughout September. It’s believed that MJF finished his scenes in the last week of September and is expected to be returning to AEW television sooner than later but a return date hasn’t been confirmed. MJF last appeared for AEW at the 2024 All Out PPV event.
Fightful also noted that MJF secured a role in an upcoming film featuring Justin Long and Ron Pearlman. Earlier this year, Deadline reported that Long and Perlman had been cast in a movie called Stranglehold but production on that project has already wrapped up.
