Update on Damian Priest’s condition following injury scare at the 2024 WWE Clash at the Castle PLE
As seen during the 2024 WWE Clash at the Castle PLE, world champion Damian Priest went a dive over the top to the outside but his foot got caught in the ropes. Priest was selling his leg during the rest of his match against Drew McIntyre.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following about what he heard from people in WWE about Priest’s condition…
“I actually heard from them and the preliminary news wasn’t bad, they’re actually saying it’s like a miracle. It wasn’t as bad as they feared, but nothing is conclusive.” (quote courtesy of RingsideNews.com)
Meltzer wrote the following in his daily update…
“The feeling last night after the show was that he dodged a bullet and it wasn’t as bad as it appeared. He went to the press conference and before getting it looked at and said it feels like his knee was thrashed, but later that night we were told things were hopeful.”
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com also commented on what he heard…
“Damian Priest was said to have appeared okay following his Clash at the Castle match and was out hanging out with other talent after the show, we’ve reported on @FightfulSelect. He received a lot of praise for his performance.”
While talking to media after the PLE, Paul “Triple H” Levesque said the following about the situation…
“When I saw that happen to Damian (Priest), my heart jumped out of my chest. I didn’t see any way that he wasn’t injured and when I got word that he says he is fine, which, adrenaline is a hell of a drug, you know you seem fine in the moment, I’m really hoping when I leave here, I am going to get good news. Because, while he is walking around okay now, I’m sure adrenaline is carrying him through that. There is such a fine line between what we do being safe and what we do not being safe.” (quote courtesy of Sportskeeda.com)
