Update on CM Punk’s AEW status heading into the 5/24/23 edition of Dynamite
As previously noted, AEW officially confirmed the new weekly Collision show for Saturday nights but there was no mention of CM Punk despite rumors of him being the show’s focal point.
In an update on Punk’s status with AEW, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that Tony Khan is expected to announce the United Center in Chicago as the venue for Collision’s debut on June 17th 2023. It’s believed that Punk will be part of the show but his involvement might not be confirmed during the May 24th edition of Dynamite. Johnson also stated the following…
”In regard to rumors and reports that there were issues between the two sides this week, we are told those were greatly overblown. The two sides had been speaking regularly since the blow-up that led to Punk being pulled from the initial Collision announcement last week.”
Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com also tweeted the following which was seemingly a reference to Punk…
”Appears everything clear for liftoff tonight.”
