Update on Bryan Danielson’s status with AEW heading into the 2024 All In PPV event
While hyping up his world title opportunity against Swerve Strickland at the All In PPV event, Bryan Danielson stated that he will likely need neck surgery before the end of 2024. Per the match stipulation, Bryan will retire if he doesn’t win the world title.
In regards to Bryan’s status with AEW heading into the PPV, he told Fightful.com that his contract expired on August 1st and he has yet to extend it or sign any new agreement with the company. Bryan expressed a willingness to continue working with AEW and said that he always makes time to answer calls from AEW President Tony Khan. Bryan added that he and Khan will explore options when the time is right but his current priority is to focus on taking care of his neck once his in-ring run ends.
Bryan said the following to Fightful…
“The first thing I’ll have to do when I’m done wrestling, the thing that is in my priority is to get my neck better, which probably involves some sort of neck surgery sooner rather than later. That will be my first order of business. Then, I’ll help AEW where I can. I love AEW. I want to help as much as I can and as much as they want my help, I’m willing to participate.”
In an interview with The Sun Sport, Bryan commented on his family being part of the match…
“My daughter has gotten to see me wrestle, but it was when she was two and she doesn’t remember it. They’ve seen me wrestle on TV, but they’ve never seen me wrestle from a seat and there. Doing it at Wembley Stadium, win or lose, this feels like the biggest match of my career. I’m really looking forward to it.”
