Update on Bobby Lashley potentially leaving WWE for AEW in the near future

Last month, it was reported that Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract was set to expire in the near future. In an update, Fightful.com is reporting that Lashley’s WWE contract is up this week and those close to him believe he is ready for a return to the wrestling ring.

According to Fightful, those spoken to in WWE during Summerslam weekend were under the impression that Lashley is leaving the company since there are currently no creative plans for him. In regards to AEW, it’s been confirmed that his name has been discussed backstage since word came out about his contractual status with WWE. At this time, no offer has been made since Lashley is still under a WWE deal.

In a video published to social media this week, Lashley teased his in-ring return with a training video and stated that he “needed this setback so the comeback can be so much greater.”
