Trey Miguel: “I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my time – I don’t take any pride in being hateful”

Last week, Fightful.com reported that former TNA Wrestling faction The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, and Myron Reed) have signed multi-year contracts with AEW after leaving TNA. The Rascalz debuted on the January 17th 2026 edition of Collision, but Miguel was absent from the segment. He also deleted his posts on Twitter/X related to AEW.

After Miguel announced that he is taking a break from wrestling, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com addressed the situation…

“No one’s really saying much. Well, some people are saying certain things, but my understanding is whatever it is, it came from up above. I know there’s a lot of rumors but it had nothing to do with anybody in AEW talent, anything like that, or Tony (Khan). Something happened from way up and he was released.”

There has been internet speculation that Miguel’s release had something to do with his social media comments from several years ago. Miguel seemingly referenced his past with the following message via Twitter/X…

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my time. I’ve always apologized and did my best to put a better foot forward after. I don’t preach hate and I don’t take any pride in being hateful. I’m a man of faith, I believe in forgiveness and only ever preach that. I’m a different man today.”
