Tony Khan comments on Ricky Starks’ status with AEW following WWE speculation

Amidst the rumors of Ricky Starks potentially leaving AEW for WWE when his contract expires, Twitter/X @WRKDWrestling posted a GIF of Ricky Starks on Tuesday night with no caption. This led to fan speculation about Starks potentially joining WWE and the account clarified that the GIF had nothing to do with the August 20th edition of NXT.

While speaking during a media call to promote the 2024 AEW All In PPV event, AEW President Tony Khan commented on Starks’ status with the company…

“Ricky has been a great star in AEW, been a champion here, and has had great matches here. I think very highly of Ricky. He’s somebody that has been here for several years and he’s under contract in AEW. He’s a well-regarded wrestler here in AEW.” (quote courtesy of Jermey Lambert)

There’s still no word regarding if/when Starks will return to AEW television.
